We all like to have friends, and at Freerunner we have lots of them. Because we are not really into re-inventing the wheel thing! If someone out there is already doing something well, we work with them.
Network Partners:
We didn't build a network to be the only ones that can use it - we want everybody to use it! We operate an open network policy where anybody that wants to get their customers onto a public WiFi network can buy access on our network for them. So the chances are whoever you get your WiFi from, your using us some of the time.

Venues:
Free WiFi for the customers was once the preserve of big brand chains with oodles of money to spend. Not any more! Because of the way we built our network it costs less, which means it costs less for locations to have it. So finally Joes coffee shop, your school, the local pub or the newsagent on the corner can afford to give the gift of the Internet to you!

Technology:
Freerunner is an open sort of a company, so it makes perfect sense to us to use Open Source technology. Everything we use is existing technology from our partners - we are just the glue, sticking it all together to bring you a great user experience.
Funding:
We all need money! NorthStar Equity funded Freerunner to get going, which gives us a unique outlook on life. You see, we don't think WiFi should only be for London or big brand chains. We think WiFi should be there for everybody. The NorthStar Equity funding is part of the European Regional Development Fund, so we can use that funding to reach out across the country and put hotspots in places other operators cannot go.
